Due to heavy snowfall, roads to the Troodos Mountains in Cyprus have been closed
On Tuesday afternoon, the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus closed all roads leading to Troodos due to heavy snowfall.
According to the police statement, the roads Platres – Troodos, Karvuna – Troodos, and Prodromos – Troodos are closed to traffic due to the snowfall.
The restriction applies to all types of vehicles.
It is worth reminding that earlier, onlyfour-wheel-drive vehicles and vehicles equipped with anti-skid chains were allowed to travel on these roads.
Additionally, apowerful cyclone named "Avgi" is raging in Cyprus, bringing heavy rains, thunderstorms, and heavy snowfall to the region, resulting in problems with road surfaces, especially in mountainous areas.
