Cyprus Prepares to Switch to Daylight Saving Time
Cyprus is set to transition to daylight saving time, with just two weeks remaining before the clock change. The Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry has announced that the switch to summer time in 2025 will take place at 3:00 AM on Sunday, March 30.
At that time, clocks should be moved forward by one hour to 4:00 AM. The daylight saving period will end in Cyprus on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
The time change applies to all European Union countries, as the primary goal of switching between summer and winter time is to make better use of daylight and conserve energy.
In 2021, the European Union decided to abolish seasonal clock changes, allowing each member state to choose whether to remain on permanent summer or winter time. However, in Cyprus, discussions on the matter were postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 health crisis.
