Cyprus ranked 12th in the Global Residence Program Index for 2024
In 2024, the Republic of Cyprus ranked 12th in the Global Residence Program Index, a world ranking of investment programs for obtaining residency. Over the year, the country dropped three places in the ranking.
The index, compiled by Henley & Partners, includes 26 countries ranked according to the simplicity and volume of investments required to obtain residency.
According to the published ranking, Cyprus scored 59 out of 100 points in 2024 and ranked between Hong Kong, Monaco, and South Korea (all three countries tied for 11th place) and Latvia and Thailand (13th place).
Portugal took the top spot in the list, followed by Austria and Greece in second place. Switzerland rounded out the top three leaders. Namibia and Mauritius occupied the last, 15th place. Malaysia ranked 14th.
"The Cyprus Golden Visa allows foreign citizens to benefit from the relatively low cost of living in the country, the absence of inheritance tax, the lowest crime rate in the EU, as well as a high-quality healthcare system and services provided by leading medical centers," noted the ranking compilers.
