Cyprus Theatre Museum to Celebrate World Theatre Day
The Cyprus Theatre Museum will join in the celebration of World Theatre Day on March 27. The holiday coincides with the museum's 12th anniversary: it was opened on March 26, 2012.
To mark this double celebration, museum visitors can enjoy free tours, performances, and other events.
On Tuesday at 17:00, a free tour will be organized at the museum, followed by a teenage theatrical performance "FAT" by Zoe Apostolidou at 20:00, organized by the Cyprus Theatre Organization.
The play, directed by Elena Sokratous, is a production of the "Walnut" theater, presented in primary and secondary schools, dedicated to the theme of fatphobia.
The main character of the play is 17-year-old Frixos, who is bullied at school because of his physical stature.
In addition to the relationships he maintains with his close friend Effie, the rest of his social interactions take place online, with Frixos never revealing his appearance. After the performance, there will be a discussion with the audience and actors Nagia T. Karakosta and Aris Kyprianou.
The play will be performed in Greek.
On March 26 and 27, admission to the museum in Limassol and all activities within it will be free.
