Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission participates in "World Investor Week 2025"
The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) joined the campaign of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) as part of "World Investor Week 2025," taking place from October 6–12, 2025. This year, the campaign focuses on the role of artificial intelligence and the risks of the digital financial environment.
As part of its participation, CySEC has published guides for investors with advice and warnings regarding the use of artificial intelligence for investment purposes. The Commission also plans lectures and dissemination of informational materials in schools and universities, training activities for teachers and parents, appearances on radio and TV programs, and daily posts on social media.
CySEC launched an online quiz that allows investors to assess their knowledge of digital risks and recognize warning signs of online fraud. According to CySEC, recent studies show that the population in Cyprus is not yet sufficiently prepared to identify such risks.
Dr. Giorgos Theoharidis, Chairman of CySEC, stated that financial literacy is a strategic priority for the Commission and urged investors to study digital tools, conduct independent research, avoid get-rich-quick schemes, and seek advice from licensed professionals.
All new materials and guides will be available on the Financial Literacy Portal on the Commission’s official website.
