Royal Navy Ship Participates in Joint Exercises with Cyprus
The British Royal Navy ship HMS Duncan recently participated in joint exercises with the Cyprus Naval Guard. According to the British High Commission in Nicosia, these exercises are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen naval cooperation between the two nations.
"The Cyprus Navy and the Royal Navy are committed to maximizing opportunities for expanding bilateral maritime defense collaboration," the statement read.
Last month, the Royal Navy announced that HMS Duncan, along with an RAF Typhoon aircraft, successfully tracked and neutralized an aerial "threat" during anti-drone exercises in the Mediterranean Sea.
During the exercises in Cyprus, the Type 45 destroyer coordinated with a Typhoon FGR4 fighter jet from the RAF Akrotiri base.
Earlier this month, the Ministry of Defence also conducted military exercises in the Nicosia Flight Information Region (FIR) in collaboration with the United States Armed Forces.
