Lidl expands: a new supermarket in Agios Dometios

The Lidl Cyprus supermarket chain has opened another store in the capital’s Agios Dometios district, strengthening its presence in Nicosia. The new supermarket is located at 51 Kyriakou Matsi Avenue and is designed to serve residents of Agios Dometios and neighbouring areas.
About 11 million euros were invested in the construction and equipment of the facility. The building covers an area of 2,284 sq. m, of which 1,564 sq. m is retail space. The store features a modern layout: wide aisles, convenient navigation, 13 checkouts (including one adapted for people with disabilities) and 8 self-checkout stations. The new store employs 33 staff members.
Lidl has been operating in Cyprus since 2010, when the first seven supermarkets were opened. Today, the chain includes more than twenty stores and a distribution centre that supports deliveries across the Republic of Cyprus and strengthens the brand’s position in the local market.
