False terrorists have "mined" schools across Cyprus
On May 17th, Cyprus witnessed a wave of reports concerning the alleged placement of explosives in educational institutions. Threats of bombs planted in schools have taken on a nationwide scale.
According to the publication Alphanews, alarming calls and letters with threats are coming from all provinces of the island.
The first reports of school bombings were received by the police around two o'clock in the morning from Limassol, after secretaries of educational institutions received alarming letters. Subsequently, reports of similar threats started pouring in from schools in Paphos and Nicosia.
Several educational institutions have already been evacuated by security forces. The police are searching for the false terrorists and attempting to trace the source of the electronic messages.
