The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary arrived in Cyprus on a working visit
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, arrived in Cyprus today on a working visit. He flew to the island at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Konstantinos Kombos.
During his stay on the island, the Hungarian Foreign Minister will be received by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the visit, the two ministers will have a private meeting, followed by extended consultations involving delegations from both ministries.
As part of the diplomat's visit, bilateral relations between Cyprus and Hungary, the Cyprus issue, and Hungary's upcoming presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2024 will be discussed.
The ministers will also exchange views on current international issues, paying particular attention to the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine.
After the consultations, the ministers will make a joint statement to the media.
Then they will proceed to the Hungarian Embassy building in Nicosia, where a ceremony will be held to open the diplomatic mission.
