The Cyprus Ministry of Health has warned about counterfeit Botox on the island

The Ministry of Health of Cyprus reported cases of use and distribution of “Botox” and “Dysport” without official approval. According to information from the Pharmaceutical Services, these products were illegally imported into the country and used in clinics and beauty salons, bypassing legal supply channels.
“Botox” and “Dysport” are widely used in cosmetology for the correction of expression lines. “Botox”, produced by the American company AbbVie, is considered the most well-known brand in this field. “Dysport” is a French equivalent by Ipsen and has a similar effect. Both products contain botulinum toxin type A and require strict compliance with storage, usage, and certification standards.
The Ministry emphasizes: the purchase, sale, or use of such products without official approval violates pharmaceutical laws and may result in criminal liability.
