Alert Declared at Akrotiri Base
Sirens were sounded at the British military bases in Akrotiri around 17:00 due to a potential security threat.
Residents were sent a message recommending they stay indoors until further notice.
As reported by the Mayor of Kourion, Pantelis Georgiou, the alert was canceled a few minutes later, and movement restrictions were lifted.
