Old Ammunition to be Exploded at the British Base in Akrotiri, Cyprus
This week, controlled explosions will take place at the British airbase in Akrotiri, Cyprus. The population has been urged to remain calm as the military will be destroying old ammunition.
According to a statement from the British forces, the explosions as part of the procedures for destroying old ammunition will occur over four days: from Monday morning to Thursday, from 9:00 to 17:00.
- Depending on weather and atmospheric conditions, the explosions may be heard over a long distance, and the population should not be alarmed, - added the department.
