According to the Cyprus Meteorological Department, seasonal low pressure is affecting the region on Thursday, August 29. A significant increase in wind speed is expected in the coming days.
In the first half of the day, most areas of the island will experience mostly sunny weather, with occasional periods of increased local cloudiness, particularly in the western part of the island. In the afternoon, isolated clouds are expected to form, mainly in the mountainous regions, but possibly in some areas of the eastern half as well.
Today's forecast from the meteorological service indicates that daytime temperatures will reach up to 36°C in the inland areas, 31°C on the western and southwestern coasts, around 33°C on the rest of the coast, and up to 28°C in the mountainous regions. By evening and overnight, the weather will be mostly clear, though there may be increased low cloud cover in some areas, especially in the west and north.
Nighttime temperatures are expected to drop to 22°C in the inland areas, 24°C on the coast, and down to 16°C in the mountainous regions.
In the coming days, increased local cloudiness may lead to isolated showers, particularly in the mountains and in some areas of the eastern half of the island.
Temperatures are expected to remain stable through Sunday, hovering around the seasonal averages.
