On January 23, Cyprus is expecting rain, thunderstorms, and nighttime frost in the mountains
According to the data from the Meteorological Department of the Republic of Cyprus, on Tuesday, January 23, the region will be affected by weak low pressure.
Today, in the first half of the day, increased cloudiness is expected in the eastern half of the island, in the mountains, and in the north, leading to short-term rain. Isolated thunderstorms are possible in the northeast. From noon, downpours are also expected in mountainous areas and on the southern coast, and closer to the evening – on the western coast. The wind will mainly blow from the northwest to the northeast, from weak to moderate.
According to the meteorological service forecast, the daytime air temperature today will reach up to 19°C in the inland areas and on the coast, and up to 8°C in the mountainous regions.
By the evening and night, due to a temporary increase in cloudiness, isolated downpours or even thunderstorms are expected, mainly on the western and northern coasts.
The air temperature will drop to around 8°C in the inland areas and on the northern coast, to 10°C on the other coasts, and around 1°C in the mountainous regions, where local frost is expected.
It is expected that by Friday, the temperature will gradually decrease and fluctuate near the average climatic values and slightly below them.
