In Cyprus, mountain roads partially closed due to frost
The sudden cold spell that hit the Republic of Cyprus has affected the condition of the country's road network. Due to frost, mountain roads in the country have been partially closed to traffic.
According to the morning police report, restrictions on vehicle movement have been imposed on roads leading to Troodos: Platres - Troodos, Karvouna - Troodos, and Prodromos - Troodos.
Movement on these sections is permitted exclusively for four-wheel-drive vehicles and vehicles equipped with anti-skid chains.
Also, due to the frost, the old Alona - Agros road is closed to traffic. Drivers are asked to be particularly attentive and to follow police instructions.
It is worth reminding that earlier it was reported that an "orange" storm warning was declared in the country due to the severe weather conditions.
