Rains and thunderstorms with hail are approaching Cyprus: weather on December 21
According to the Department of Meteorology of the Republic of Cyprus, from noon on Thursday, December 21, a weak low-pressure system will begin to affect the region.
Today, in the first half of the day, the weather will be predominantly cloudy. Rain is approaching the region from the west. After noon, precipitation will intensify and spread to the rest of the island. Hail is possible during thunderstorms. Winds will initially blow from the northeast to the southeast, and in the second half of the day - from the southeast to the south.
According to the meteorological forecast, the air temperature will rise to 19°C in the inland areas, up to 20°C on the coasts, and approximately 9°C in the mountainous regions during the day.
By evening, the weather will be cloudy, with brief showers and isolated thunderstorms expected. Hail is possible during the storm, and wet snow may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos.
The air temperature will drop to around 8°C in the inland areas, to 13°C on the southern and eastern coasts, to 15°C on the rest of the coast, and to 4°C in the mountainous regions.
On Friday, the weather will remain predominantly cloudy, with localized showers and isolated thunderstorms, especially in coastal areas.
