Hunter in Cyprus Discovers Unexploded Shell: Another Found Nearby
In Cyprus, a hunter discovered an unexploded shell while hunting in the forest. Upon arrival, police found another unexploded munition nearby.
According to law enforcement officials, the incident occurred around 7:45 AM near the Agia Anna wind farm in Kalo Chorio. After spotting a suspicious object in a ravine, the hunter immediately reported the find to the police.
Responding to the scene were officers from the Kofinou police station, as well as fire department personnel and members of the Larnaca fire service. Authorities determined that the object was a military shell from the National Guard.
Upon further inspection of the area, another unexploded 100mm shell for an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) was found. The area was sealed off, and both munitions were safely destroyed through controlled explosions.
