Cyprus Celebrates March 25th National Holiday
Solemn events are taking place in Cyprus to mark the national anniversary of March 25, 1821, dedicated to the start of the Greek War of Independence.
At 10:00 AM, President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides attended a festive service at the Panagia Faneromeni Church in Nicosia, led by Archbishop Georgios. The ceremony was also attended by House President Annita Demetriou, Minister of Education Athena Michaelidou, and the Ambassador of Greece Konstantinos Kollias.
Following the service at 11:00 AM, the President, along with officials, took the salute at the military and student parade held in front of the Greek Embassy.
The parade featured veterans, university students, schoolchildren, scouts, as well as various social organizations and associations.
Doxologies and parades are also being held in other cities and municipalities across Cyprus with the participation of government representatives.
