Another 132 vehicles in Cyprus recalled due to faulty Takata airbags
The Road Transport Department (RTD) announced the recall of an additional 132 vehicles due to defective driver airbags manufactured by Takata. The announcement was published on November 22, 2025.
In the RTD statement, it was noted that these 132 vehicles were added to the previously recalled batches announced on October 17, 2025, and November 20, 2025. The roadworthiness certificates of the specified vehicles have been revoked.
The RTD urges owners to immediately stop using the affected vehicles and contact the manufacturer’s official distributor in Cyprus — CIC Automasters — to receive further instructions. For the convenience of owners, a list of the recalled vehicles’ registration numbers has been published in PDF format.
The RTD’s recommendations are mandatory in terms of road safety. Owners should follow the distributor’s instructions and not operate the vehicles until the defect has been eliminated. Additional information is available in the official RTD announcement and the attached list of registration numbers.
