Stronger winds and noticeable cooling expected in Cyprus
Starting tomorrow, stronger winds and a drop in temperatures are forecast in Cyprus, according to meteorologists. At night, the weather will be mostly clear with some local low clouds and patches of fog; winds will be light, 3 on the Beaufort scale, and the sea calm — slightly wavy.
Tomorrow, daytime weather will remain mostly clear with some areas of increased cloudiness. In the morning, winds will be mainly southeasterly — light, then strengthening and shifting to southwesterly and northwesterly, 3–4 on the Beaufort scale, reaching 4–5 on the coasts, locally 5. Temperatures will rise to around 35° in central areas, 29° on the western and southwestern coasts, 32° on the other coasts, and about 25° in the highlands.
In the evening and at night, isolated light showers are possible in the eastern part of the island. On Thursday night, winds will strengthen to moderate and strong, locally very strong (4–6 Beaufort), with rough seas in the eastern and northern regions. On Friday, mostly clear weather will continue, but the island will be under the influence of a strong northerly wind field; temperatures will drop and on Saturday will remain around or slightly below the seasonal averages. For residents, this means possible deterioration of sea conditions and the need to take into account stronger winds when making plans on the coast.
