A fake letter with the Central Bank logo is circulating in Cyprus
On October 3, 2025, the Central Bank of Cyprus warned about the circulation of a fake letter in which the bank's symbols and logos are used to request the transfer of funds from recipients.
The bank's statement indicated that the letter does not originate from the Central Bank of Cyprus and that the matter has been reported to the competent authorities for investigation. The document notes that the fake letter contains distinctive signs and logos similar to those used by the bank.
The Central Bank of Cyprus reminded the public that it never requires immediate money transfers from individual citizens. The bank urged heightened caution and stated that if a similar document is received, the Cyprus Police should be contacted immediately and the Central Bank notified.
