In Cyprus, a National Cybersecurity Certification Body has been established
Cyprus could become a regional center for the certification of products and services in the IT and communication sector. To achieve this, the National Cybersecurity Certification Body has been established in the country.
According to the statement from the Commissioner of Electronic Communications and Digital Security, the newly formed body has the authority to certify products and services from both European and third countries, which are available in the European market.
Its responsibilities include licensing and supervision of conformity assessment organizations, market supervision of certified products and manufacturers, collaboration with relevant national and international organizations, as well as representing Cyprus in European bodies related to cybersecurity.
It is also reported that the recently established body aims to contribute to turning Cyprus into a well-known regional center for cybersecurity services in collaboration with stakeholders not only in Cyprus but throughout Europe.
