Two Young Climbers Rescued After Getting Stuck on a Cliff in Cyprus
Two young people were rescued in Cyprus after becoming stranded 25 meters above the ground during a mountain climb.
Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis reported that the rescue operation took place on Thursday evening, when firefighters responded to an emergency involving the climbers who had gotten stuck on a steep slope in the Palaichori area.
Firefighters from Nicosia, along with a specialized EMAK rescue unit, were dispatched to the scene at 5:16 PM. They brought along rescue equipment, including a telescopic lift, to reach and safely retrieve the climbers.
Both individuals were successfully rescued and brought to safety. Fortunately, neither of them required hospitalization.
