Car registrations are rapidly increasing in Cyprus
In November 2023, Cyprus experienced a significant surge in the number of car registrations. Compared to November of the previous year, there was a growth of 58.5%, and since the beginning of the year, the number of cars has increased by 34.6%.
According to the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat), in November 2023, the total number of registered vehicles reached 3,997, whereas the previous year saw 2,522 registrations.
Specifically, the number of registrations for passenger cars increased by 74.6%, totaling 3,243.
From January to November 2023, the overall number of registered vehicles reached 42,500. During the same period last year, 31,584 cars were registered. The number of registrations for passenger cars during this period increased by 37.1%, reaching 34,140.
It is noteworthy that more than 40% of passenger cars (13,894) were new, while 20,246, or 59.3%, were used.
From January to November 2023, the registration of motorcycles with a capacity exceeding 50 cubic centimeters increased to 305 (from 237 during the same period in 2022), and the number of registrations for motorcycles with a capacity of less than 50 cubic centimeters reached 3,151 (from 2,452 during the same period in 2022).
