Cyprus Remembers Victims of the Tempi Train DisasterCyprus is holding memorial events today to honor the victims of Greece’s deadliest train crash. February 28 marks two years since the tragic collision in Tempi, which claimed 57 lives.

Commemorations are taking place across Greece and Cyprus, with gatherings not only paying tribute to those lost but also demanding a full and fair investigation into the causes of the disaster. A nationwide strike has been declared in both countries, and record participation is expected in the protests.

So far, 383 events have been announced—262 in Greece and 121 abroad. In Athens, the main demonstration will take place at Syntagma Square at 11:00 AM.

In Cyprus, rallies will be held in the afternoon in major cities:

• Nicosia – Eleftheria Square, 5:00 PM
• Limassol – Molos area, 6:00 PM
• Paphos – Town Hall Square, 5:00 PM
• Larnaca – Europe Square, 5:00 PM

The Republic of Cyprus Police has issued a traffic advisory, warning of potential delays in several areas due to the nationwide protests marking the second anniversary of the Tempi train tragedy.
