Cyprus Launches Online Tool to Detect Suspicious Links
Cyprus has launched a new online tool to help citizens identify suspicious links. The announcement was made by George Michaelides, the head of the Department of Communications and Digital Security (DSA).

“The goal is to provide both citizens and critical infrastructure providers with a tool for proactive vetting and reporting of suspicious links,” Michaelides said in an interview with CyBC.
The idea behind the tool is for users to report potentially harmful links to the DSA, which will then investigate the issues to address cybersecurity concerns.
The Department also commits to notifying social media providers about any links being shared through their platforms.
To check a link, users need to copy and paste the URL and receive a reliability rating based on available evidence. One of the options is a “Report Malicious Link” button, which sends the link for further examination and marks it as dangerous if confirmed.
Another feature is the “Report Fraud” button, which allows users affected by malicious links to submit their information directly to the police’s cybersecurity department.
The online tool, called “Check My Link,” can be accessed on the Digital Security Authority's website: https://getsafeonline.dsa.ee.cy/
