Hundreds of Flamingos Arrive at Akrotiri Salt Lake in Larnaca
Hundreds of pink flamingos are continuing to flock to Akrotiri Salt Lake in Larnaca. According to the Akrotiri Environmental Education Center (AAEC), there are currently around 300 flamingos at the lake, and their numbers are growing daily.

The flamingos returned to the area following the first rainfall of the season, which occurred last week.
Birdwatchers are advised not to approach the flamingos or enter the lake, as this could disrupt their natural habitat.
Visitors are encouraged to use the birdwatching facilities at the center. The AAEC features a "viewing kiosk" with three telescopes offering a clear view of the salt lake.
"We're all very excited to see them again. In the past, not many people had the chance to see these beautiful creatures up close, so we invite everyone to take the opportunity and visit us," said Thomas Hadjikyriakou, Manager of AAEC, adding that the facility can accommodate up to 100 visitors at a time.
The flamingos' arrival at Akrotiri came just days after the first flamingos of the year were spotted at the Larnaca Salt Lake.
