Unexploded Shell Found and Safely Destroyed at Construction Site in Peyia
An unexploded mortar shell was discovered at a construction site in Peyia (Paphos district). The dangerous find was made by workers during construction activities.
According to emergency services, the shell, measuring around 50 cm in length, was found on the evening of March 18. Rescue teams and bomb disposal experts were quickly dispatched to the scene.
The area was cordoned off by officers from the Paphos Criminal Investigation Department, and the shell was safely destroyed through a controlled explosion carried out by a bomb disposal expert.
