A bus with passengers caught fire on the Paphos - Limassol highway
On Sunday, a fire broke out in a passenger bus on the Paphos - Limassol highway in Cyprus. Fortunately, all passengers managed to evacuate from the burning vehicle in time.
According to a representative of the fire service, the fire in the moving bus ignited around 13:00 when the bus was near Paramali. The fire started in the engine area and was immediately extinguished by the onboard automatic fire suppression system.
Fire trucks from Limassol and British bases arrived at the scene.
All passengers were able to exit the bus in time and were not in any danger. To allow the passengers to continue their journey, a replacement bus was called to the scene.
It is worth noting that at the end of last year, buses in Cyprus were taken out of service after several fires until automatic fire suppression systems were installed on them.
