Massive Traffic Jam on the Paphos – Polis Road
A massive traffic jam has formed on the Paphos – Polis road due to ongoing roadworks. Authorities are planning to install traffic lights to help alleviate the congestion.
According to Alphanews, traffic issues on this road have been present since Monday. The improvement works are being carried out in two locations: one section 1.8 km long on the ascent to Tsada, and another section about 1.5 km long from Jola to Stroumbi.
Last week, the works were temporarily halted due to insufficient safety measures. However, on Monday, authorities decided to resume the works, but only during nighttime hours, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Despite this, no measures have been taken to install road signs or traffic control systems, which has led to severe traffic jams. Traffic lights are expected to be installed at the problematic areas in the near future.
