Around 5600 Applications Submitted for Participation in All-Cyprus Entrance Exams
Approximately 5600 applications have been submitted for participation in the 2024 All-Cyprus Entrance Exams (PEP) for admission to higher education institutions in Cyprus, military academies, and higher education institutions in Greece. As of today, the period for paying the examination fees has begun.
According to the head of the examination service, Dimitris Handriotis, applications were accepted from March 7 to March 22, and then the deadline was extended by 5 days. Thus, the application submission lasted until March 27. The process is carried out electronically through a special platform.
After submitting the applications, candidates started selecting study programs and aids. At this stage, candidates chose programs for Greece, but the selection of faculties in Greek universities was not made, as the selection process in Greece will take place in July.
From today, the period for paying examination fees for participation has started, which will end on Thursday, April 18, 2024.
The head of the examination service reminded that payment will be made electronically using a debit/credit card, through the same online platform.
The fee is 25 euros for each examination course and 50 euros for a practical test course.
It is also noted that this year, the pan-Cypriot entrance exams will not start with the traditional course of Modern Greek Language but with English language. The choice of the first course for pan-Cypriots was made in agreement with the Directorate of Secondary General Education. It will begin on June 10.
Dimitris Handriotis explained that since on the eve of June 9, elections will be held to the European Parliament, as well as to local government bodies and school councils, the decision was made to start with the English language to relieve some of the overcrowded school departments and prepare the premises of all examination centers.
Thus, the pan-Cypriot entrance exams will start this year on June 10 with English language and end on June 28 with the subject "General Mathematics". Exams on the Modern Greek Language will take place on June 12, as June 11 is a school holiday, and June 24 will be a break due to a national holiday.
Final exam results are planned to be announced around July 19.
