32 Polling Stations to Open for Turkish Cypriots in European Parliament Elections
In the upcoming European Parliament elections on June 9, 32 polling stations will be open for Turkish Cypriots to cast their votes. The polling stations will be distributed across the districts of Nicosia, Larnaca, and Famagusta.
In the Nicosia area, two polling stations will operate at Kato Pyrgos High School, two at the Flasou Village Council office, four at the Astromeritis Village Council office, five at the Ayios Dometios Multipurpose Center, five at the Department of Urban Planning, and five at the Old Municipal Market.
In the Larnaca district, two polling stations will be open at Xylotymbou High School.
In the Famagusta region, two polling stations will be set up at the Achera Primary School and five at the Derinya State Nursery.
Polling stations will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a one-hour break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Cyprus has officially announced that the elections for the European Parliament and local authorities will take place on Sunday, June 9.
A total of 706,534 voters have registered to vote in the upcoming European Parliament elections in Cyprus.
Among the total registered voters, 568,608 are Cypriots, including 837 Turkish Cypriots holding Republic of Cyprus identity cards.
The breakdown of voters by districts shows that in the Nicosia district, 220,736 voters are registered, including 143 Turkish Cypriots. In Famagusta, there are 33,879 registered voters, including eight Turkish Cypriots. In Larnaca, there are 99,342 voters, 249 of whom are Turkish Cypriots. In Limassol, there are 159,680 registered voters, including 238 Turkish Cypriots, and in Paphos, there are 54,971 registered voters, including 199 Turkish Cypriots.
The special voter list for European citizens for the elections of local government officials includes 21,640 voters, with 4,048 in Nicosia, 2,669 in Famagusta, 2,525 in Larnaca, 3,123 in Limassol, and 9,275 in Paphos.
Additionally, a total of 4,725 voters will cast their votes for European Parliament deputies from abroad.
