An unholiday “gift”: drivers near Larnaca Airport were met with a rain of fines

Christmas trips for many passengers of Larnaca Airport began with an unpleasant surprise. During the holiday period, numerous cases of fines for improper stopping and parking were recorded near the airport, sparking a wave of outrage among drivers.
According to eyewitnesses, cars were fined in areas where drivers briefly stopped to drop off or pick up passengers. Amid increased traffic and limited space near the terminals, many considered such measures excessively harsh, especially during the Christmas days.
Drivers note that instead of a festive mood, they were met with penalty tickets, and the situation once again raised the issue of a lack of convenient and clearly marked short-term stopping zones near the airport. No official statements about easing enforcement during the holiday period have yet followed.
