Illegal cigarettes and kefir: driver fined for violating Green Line regulations
During a vehicle inspection, 27 packs of cigarettes (a total of 5,400 units) were found in the driver's possession, with packaging missing the mandatory health warnings in Greek and Turkish. This indicates that the tobacco products were not taxed.
Additionally, the car contained 25 liters of kefir, the transport of which is prohibited under Green Line regulations, as they strictly limit the transportation of animal-based products.
The driver was detained for offenses committed in the presence of authorities, and both the illegal goods and the vehicle were confiscated.
The man was later released after agreeing to an out-of-court settlement: he paid a fine of €1,700 and an additional €300 for the return of the vehicle.
