Hunting in a prohibited area: fines of €3,000 issued in Paphos

Cyprus police continue anti-poaching raids in Larnaca, Limassol, and Paphos. During patrols on December 24 in the Paphos district, law enforcement officers discovered three individuals hunting in a prohibited area. Each of them was issued an out-of-court fine of €3,000.
It is also reported that on December 26, during an inspection in one of the fields in the Larnaca district, seven nets for catching wild birds were found and confiscated, along with a sound-emitting device used to lure birds by imitating their calls. The investigation is being conducted by the Polis Chrysochous and Zygi police stations.
