Cyprus hunters demand the right to shoot foxes
Cyprus hunters are demanding the right to shoot foxes, claiming that these animals have become too numerous on the island.
“Our appeal has been ongoing for years. We publish videos that speak for themselves. Foxes have bred to terrifying proportions,” the activists stated.
They have addressed MPs and relevant committees with a stern warning: time is running out, and any delay will lead to irreversible consequences.
The hunters are urgently calling for foxes to be added to the list of game species so that controlled shooting can begin.
They are also insisting on the launch of state programs to manage the population and on regular reporting to parliament on the matter.
This concerns not only natural areas but the entire territory of Cyprus. The hunters are demanding a clear action plan from the authorities: how exactly the population will be controlled, who will be responsible, and when to expect results.
