The Olympic swimming pool in Geroskipou will be fully renovated by 2026

The Olympic swimming complex "Tassos Papadopoulos" in Geroskipou is planned to be restored to its original high operational standards by 2026. The Cyprus Sports Organisation (KOA) has undertaken full funding of the restoration works of the pool basin.
Previously, in 2023, KOA approved a subsidy of €233,000 with a preliminary cost estimate of €350,000 plus VAT. After updating the budget, the organisation decided to cover €412,000 excluding VAT — the total project amount will be €490,280. The additional support beyond the initial estimate amounts to around €257,000. KOA will also review the level of funding after examining the proposals submitted to the open tender announced by the Geroskipou municipality.
The Geroskipou authorities thanked the KOA leadership for the decision, calling it an important step towards the reopening of the Olympic pool. The municipality's statement emphasizes that this project is a clear result of strategic cooperation between the town and the Cyprus Sports Organisation.
