Larnaca Hotels Are 80-85% Full
Hotel occupancy in Larnaca is currently at 80-85%, with the majority of visitors coming from the UK and Israel.
Marios Polyviou, the president of the Pancyprian Hotel Association (PASYXE) in Larnaca, reported that hotel occupancy rates in July and August were very high, reaching 80-85%.
"We are very pleased to see that the year is turning out to be highly successful for Larnaca's tourism, despite a slow start due to the situation in the Middle East," stated Polyviou.
The UK continues to lead in the number of tourists arriving in Larnaca, followed by Israel, Poland, Romania, Germany, and other Central European countries.
"There is also tourism from Lebanon, but we are particularly pleased with the significant number of visitors from Israel, which is very beneficial for our hoteliers. The current flow of tourists from Israel to Larnaca is in a very strong position.
However, we believe that any developments in the Middle East could impact tourism from Israel and Lebanon, not only in Larnaca but across Cyprus," Polyviou noted.
Polyviou also shared positive forecasts for hotel bookings in Larnaca for September.
"The two concerts by world-renowned singer Ed Sheeran, scheduled for the weekend of September 7th and 8th in Larnaca, are expected to attract hundreds of guests from several foreign countries who will be staying in the city’s hotels," he emphasized.
