Parking at Nicosia General Hospital to Be Charged Starting February 24
Starting Monday, February 24, parking at Nicosia General Hospital will become a paid service. Authorities have outlined the pricing structure and provided details on who will be exempt from the charges.
According to a statement from the State Health Services Organization, the new rules aim to ensure that parking spaces are reserved for individuals directly connected to the hospital’s services.
The parking lot will be monitored 24/7 by reception staff, who will oversee the proper operation of the system and offer assistance to the public. Entry and exit will be controlled by automatic barriers, and vehicle license plates will be recorded through a camera-based software system. Drivers will be required to pay upon exiting the parking area.
Parking will be free for the first three hours. After that, the cost will be €2 for 3 to 5 hours, and €15 for stays longer than 5 hours. Hospital staff (unless they have a personal parking spot in the basement) as well as outpatient patients, and hospitalized patients, will be exempt from the charges. Additionally, guests of hospitalized patients will also be able to park for free.
Outpatients will receive complimentary parking for the duration of their visit. If a patient's appointment exceeds the allotted free parking time, they will need to go to the registration desk at the clinic for confirmation. This will allow them to apply for an exemption from the charges.
People with disabilities or limited mobility will also benefit from free parking.
