Paralimni and Deryneia beaches equipped with smart lockers for personal belongings

In the municipalities of Paralimni and Deryneia, the installation of modern storage units — "safe boxes" — continues along the coast for the personal belongings of beachgoers and visitors.
The first batch of 40 lockers has already been installed, and in the coming days seven more points will be set up in different parts of the coastal area.
According to the Mayor of Paralimni-Deryneia, Georgios Nicolettos, the project is of great importance: it helps solve the problem of storing personal belongings for those swimming and also makes life easier for people walking or exercising along the Protaras seafront promenade.
The "safe boxes" are smart lockers with two activation options: via palm recognition or with a personal four-digit code. Each locker also includes a cable for charging mobile phones.
Rental costs: small lockers — €1 per hour or €8.90 per 24 hours; large lockers — €2 per hour or €12.90 per day.
The municipality clarified that the installation and operation of the lockers are carried out by a private company that won the tender. It determines the operating conditions and rental rates.
