Nicosia police have arrested three teenagers suspected of being involved in a series of robberies and burglaries that occurred in recent days at a supermarket and various fruit stalls. Two of the suspects are 17 years old, and one is 16.

Evidence against the trio was collected during the investigation of break-ins at businesses located in the Aglantzia area.

All three youths appeared before the Nicosia District Court yesterday, where a judge issued an eight-day detention order to facilitate further investigation.

In addition to the cases involving the supermarket and fruit stall, one of the arrested individuals is also being investigated for three other burglary and theft incidents at a café, another fruit stall, and a souvenir shop.

According to investigators, the first robbery occurred on June 8 at a café in the Lakatamia area, where cash, goods, and a portable tablet were stolen. On the night of August 15-16, a fruit stall in the Agios Dometios area was robbed of cash and food items.

The second fruit stall robbery took place in Aglantzia on the night of October 5-6, following a supermarket robbery in the same area on September 24-25. Reports to the police indicate that tobacco products were stolen from the supermarket, while money, phone cards, and tobacco products were taken from the fruit stall.

Additionally, a break-in at a souvenir shop occurred on the night of October 3-4, where cash and merchandise were also reported stolen.
