According to the police press service, the two suspects, aged 19 and 23, were arrested last night based on a court order.
The investigation suggests that the murder was committed after midnight on Wednesday. Evidence indicates that the suspects shot the victims in the head at the same location where the burning car was found. Financial disagreements are cited as the alleged motive for the crime.
All participants in the incident are known to have lived in Arakapas and its surroundings. At the 19-year-old's house, police found several guns, one of which is believed to be the murder weapon.
One of the victims has been identified as 39-year-old Andreas Kouzoupis from Arakapas. The identification was made through a DNA test. The identity of the second deceased is still being established. The second man is believed to be a foreigner residing on the island. The police know his name but are awaiting the final DNA test results.
As a reminder, the completely burned car with two charred bodies inside was found on Wednesday night in the Listovounos area, halfway between Parekklisia and Kellaki, on a dirt road 50 meters from the main road.
