Cyprus Police to Ramp Up Road Checks Ahead of Clean Monday
The Republic of Cyprus Police will be stepping up traffic measures over the long weekend leading into Clean Monday celebrations. These actions are aimed at preventing accidents, managing road congestion, and ensuring a smooth flow of vehicles.
According to the police press office, increased road monitoring will include intensified patrolling, traffic surveillance, and checks, with a particular emphasis on serious traffic violations.
These violations include driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, speeding, failure to wear seat belts or helmets, and using mobile phones while driving.
Motorists can stay updated on road conditions throughout the long weekend by following the police’s social media channels, official mobile app, and website.
Drivers are advised to exercise caution, adhere to traffic laws, watch for road signs, and follow police instructions.
Additionally, the Cyprus Department of Forestry has already issued a reminder for tourists on dos and don’ts for Clean Monday.
