Limassol Police Investigate Teen’s Abduction
Limassol police are investigating the abduction of a 17-year-old boy, with a third suspect now in custody.
According to the police press office, an 18-year-old Limassol resident was arrested in connection with a conspiracy to commit a serious crime—kidnapping with the intent to detain and rob the victim.
The incident occurred on February 28. The teenager, originally from Syria, reported that he was abducted while standing near a kiosk in Kolossi around 11:45 a.m. A car with a man and a woman inside pulled up next to him, followed by a van. The van’s driver got out, grabbed him by force, and dragged him inside.
A short time later, the vehicle stopped in the Kastro Kolossi area, where the kidnappers stole his mobile phone, beat him, and then threw him out of the van. They also threatened to kill him and burn down his home if he went to the police.
The teenager walked home and later, accompanied by his mother, filed a police report.
Two other suspects, aged 29 and 24, were arrested earlier on March 1. A court has ordered them to remain in custody for three days as the investigation continues.
