The Paphos police caught a woman driving under the influence of drugs in a stolen car
The Paphos police caught a woman who was behind the wheel of a stolen car while under the influence of drugs. She stole the car from her fellow villager of the same age.
According to the police press service, a 42-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft. A drug test showed a positive result. Additionally, she was found with a small amount of cannabis.
The theft of the car was reported to the police by another 42-year-old woman. According to the complainant, she parked the car near her mother's house and forgot the keys inside.
Around 18:30, the police noticed the sought-after car on Mesogis Avenue. It turned out that the woman behind the wheel was from the same village as the owner of the car.
After testing positive for drugs and the discovery of cannabis, the car thief was arrested on the spot.
It is expected that she will appear before the Paphos District Court for a decision on pre-trial detention.
