The police conducted searches in the Central Prisons and arrested three in connection with a murder in Limassol
The police continue to investigate the mafia-style murder of 49-year-old Stavros Dimostenois and conducted searches in the Central Prisons yesterday evening, said Police spokesperson Kyriaki Lambrianidou.
During the raid, three more men aged 58, 39, and 30 were arrested. According to the police, two of them are Greek Cypriots, one is Greek; all are being taken to the Limassol District Court to obtain a remand order at 11:30.
Investigators from TAE Limassol note that one of the previously arrested in the case — a 44-year-old Greek Cypriot and former footballer — is already under an eight-day detention. According to the investigation, the perpetrators carefully prepared the attack: their actions were recorded frame by frame in the area of the victim’s residence in Agios Athanasios, where he lived in a luxurious villa.
Available data indicate that a van was used to flee the scene of the arson, and the alleged buyers of the motorcycle used by the perpetrators to escape also appear in the case files. The investigation continues, with possible new investigative actions and arrests.
