Fire damaged cars and motorcycles at a car dealership parking lot in Mesogi, Paphos
Early on Saturday morning, a fire caused significant damage at a car dealership parking lot in Mesogi, Paphos. Police said the blaze started at around 3:00 a.m.
A preliminary inspection showed that the fire damaged eight cars, 11 motorcycles, three electric golf carts, and one jet ski.
Police and the fire brigade were called to the scene and managed to contain and extinguish the fire. Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis said in a post on X that the Paphos Fire Station responded to the call at 3:00 a.m.
Two fully equipped fire engines were deployed; crews used fire hoses and five breathing apparatuses.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
Kettis also said that over the past 24 hours the fire brigade responded to 28 incidents across Cyprus, including 16 fires and 12 calls for special services.
