Fire in the Agios Epifanios Soleas area was contained this morning in Cyprus
This morning in Cyprus, a fire broke out in the Agios Epifanios Soleas area, in the locality known as “Palioekklisia”, the Forestry Department reported. The fire was recorded at 08:50.
The fire was completely contained by 09:10. According to the department, the flames covered an area of wild vegetation measuring 300 m2; earlier reports had estimated 200 m2.
Twelve employees of the Forestry Department with four fire engines, as well as three members of the Fire Service with one vehicle, took part in the firefighting operation.
The causes of the incident are under investigation; the department notes signs of grass burning.
For residents, this means that the Forestry Department and the Fire Service responded promptly to the fire and are carrying out an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
