A 76-year-old British man, a permanent resident of Ayia Napa, died from an electric shock. The tragedy occurred while he was working in his garden.

According to the police, William Edward, who lived in the Ayia Thekla area with his wife, was found unconscious in his garden on Thursday at 9:30 in the morning with injuries to his hand and head.

A police representative informed the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) that the injured British man was taken to Paralimni Hospital by ambulance.

Witnesses reported that the elderly British man was trying to pull a fuse from an extension cord and received an electric shock. An inspection of the sockets in the house did not reveal any faults.
