Elderly Pedestrian Killed by Cement Mixer in Larnaca
A tragic traffic accident has occurred in Cyprus, claiming the life of an elderly man under the wheels of a cement mixer in Larnaca.
According to the police press office, the fatal incident took place around 9 AM today on Griva Digeni Avenue in Larnaca. A 49-year-old driver lost control of the cement mixer and struck 79-year-old local resident Trifonas Papachristoforou, who was crossing the street at the time under unclear circumstances.
The injured pedestrian suffered severe injuries and was transported by ambulance to Larnaca General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries around 11:30 AM.
The Larnaca traffic police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.
